VanJen Clamp Matches Wiggins Clamp But Beats its Price
Vibrant Performance showed off its new VanJen Clamp at the PRI Show in Orlando, FL this past weekend. It is a lightweight clamp that assembles and disassembles quickly and easily, yet provides a secure air-tight connection. Its price is much less than the Wiggins Clamp, yet it has pretty much the same functionality.
It can flex up to 12 degrees, so it is ideal for connections that take a beating in high-vibration environments. It can also handle up to 110 psi and 400 degrees F so it would work well in turbo intake plumbing.
The aluminum or stainless steel weld fittings are welded to their respective parts. The black aluminum union sleeve fits over the joint and the clamp fits over the union sleeve. A locking pin prevents accidental disconnections.
The clamp is available in 2.5″, 3.0″, 3.5″ and 4.0″ outer diameters.
AJ Performance will be reviewing its piping to determine if this would be a good fit in the AJP turbo kit for the Honda Civic Si.
