Nitrous Gone Wild, Part 2

oscar_miami_blown_motor04It was a happy day for Oscar from Miami when he bought a brand new Honda Civic SI, all gleaming red. However, Oscar had some big intentions. He raced anyone and anywhere. He was a nitrous junkie, installing a system in his car at only 1,000 miles. In a 2-week period, he went through 6 bottles. At one point, he averaged a bottle per day.

The only problem was that the Miami-based shop was not competent and the installation was not correct. After repeated 100-shots, he blew his motor.

Oscar’s car was brought in to our shop, dead on arrival, the odometer showing 3,000 miles. The sad fact was that the car was so new, it did not even have its first oil change.

In the world of performance, this kind of installation is not warranteed. So Oscar lost not only the nitrous system but the engine as well.
