Lexus IS 300 Roars to 517 whp at AJP
Normally accustomed to front wheel drive Hondas, AJP took on the tuning of a rear wheel drive 2004 Lexus IS 300 with a built motor and a Garrett GT35R turbo. Rishi, of Dangerous Toys Performance, built the motor and brought it in to have it tuned.
When the car rolled off the dyno, it didn’t take but a minute for Rishi to test out its power on the now deserted streets at 2:00 am. The customer was also thrilled when he took it for a spin.
Unfortunately, the police were not so thrilled.
AJP Dyno Day In Pictures
With temperatures in the mid-90s and repeated forecasts of Tropical Storm Fay on television, 20 cars and many more people came out for the AJ Performance 2WD Dyno Day.
It was an accident-free day, just a little rain and on the whole, a day that went well.
AJP thanks everyone who came and showed their support, especially to XS Energy Drink, Euro Export and Power Rev Racing for their display tables.
Thanks also to Danielle, Jorge, Mike, Oscar and Sandor for volunteering their time throughout the day to make it run smoothly. Read the rest of this entry »
Infiniti G35 Brute Forces Past Competition
Cesar, from Coral Springs, FL, watched his 2006 Infiniti G35 muscle its way past a 2007 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner to win first place in the AJP Dyno Day Highest Horsepower All-Motor category. Only a scant 11 hp separated his winning pull of 269 hp and second place. But it wasn’t the Toyota that he was happiest about; rather, it was beating a Nissan 350Z by almost 20 hp that was most satisfying. Cesar has a 3.5-liter V6 motor, dual exhaust and a pulley kit. AJP Turbo Powers SI to Victory
Jorge, from Port St. Lucie, FL, couldn’t believe his dyno numbers after roaring into first place of the AJP Dyno Day Highest Horsepower - Forced Induction category. All it took was some fine adjustment of his fuel pressure and turning up the boost to 8.5 psi. His first pull started him off at 376 whp, some 40 hp higher than his previous best. This set the stage for another 35 hp increase to 411.7 and his Honda Civic SI with the AJ Performance Stage 2 Turbo Kit ran away from the field.

10 Hours of AJP Dyno Day compressed into 7 minutes
24 cars came through the AJ Performance Dynocom Dyno, making for a successful day. The first car, brought in by Ralph, was the winner of the Least Horsepower award (and mercifully not shown to preserve his anonymity) and started at 1pm, with the last pull ending sometime around 11pm.

Surprise Video from Hot Import Nights, December 2006
Last December on a rainy Saturday, thousands of people crowded the Miami Beach Convention Center, host to Hot Import Nights. Cars, girls and cars everywhere you looked. One of those cars was a boosted Honda Civic SI from AJ Performance. I remember that day well, because I set up the lights for the car.
