Extreme Nitrous Damage
I stopped by a shop that specializes in building and rebuilding motors - Russ Racing. They’ve been around South Florida since 1958. That’s five decades of experience. I got a tour of the place and took some pictures of motors they were repairing. They’ve seen it all.

AJP Calls Police After Seeing TV News Coverage of Hit-and-Run Car
It wasn’t the usual way to get new customers, but then again, it wasn’t business as usual. When Ron opened the shop yesterday, he happened to catch the 8:00am news story about a hit-and-run only 4 days before. Surveillance video caught a fuzzy outline of a silver or gray car hitting a pedestrian at night.
Ron had just taken a car on Saturday, a silver Mercedes-Benz, with damage that resembled that of the car he saw in the video. He called police and soon the place was filled with not only cops but reporters and cameramen. Helicopters buzzed overhead.
The car was towed away by the police and Ron was left to wonder about the owner of the car, whom he had just seen on Saturday. The customer had been coming to the shop since 1999 and never came across as one who would hit a pedestrian at non-trivial speed and then take off.
Ron gave interviews both to the police and the media. See local Fox News coverage (click here) and local CBS News coverage (click here).
Then things got interesting. The policemen took a liking to the shop car and the dyno. They were interested in bringing their cars in. A few wanted him to rev the shop car - they couldn’t believe it had over 700 whp. What a way to pick up a few more customers!

Don’t Drive Stupidly.

So I was hanging around AJ Performance hoping to get some dyno footage when someone came into the office, urging us to look outside. Already, people in the parking lot were looking towards the street. I grabbed my camera and ran out to see a just-happened car versus semi. Fire rescue and police were not there yet and people had stopped to check on the driver, while others were on their cell phones. There was a lot of damage, but it was not a high-speed collision.
