We interrupt this blog to bring you an important news bulletin:
Don’t Drive Stupidly.
So I was hanging around AJ Performance hoping to get some dyno footage when someone came into the office, urging us to look outside. Already, people in the parking lot were looking towards the street. I grabbed my camera and ran out to see a just-happened car versus semi. Fire rescue and police were not there yet and people had stopped to check on the driver, while others were on their cell phones. There was a lot of damage, but it was not a high-speed collision.
She appeared to be okay, not screaming or anything, but she was definitely cut and bruised. And most likely dazed. Police shut down traffic of this 6-lane road in both directions. The airbag deployed in what looks to be a Toyota Camry. Apparently it was one of those slow crushing type of accidents in which both vehicles were heading in the same direction. And this car was headed to the junk yard to be crushed some more.
Congratulations to the Lauderhill Fire Rescue - Engine 57, Quint 73 and Rescue 73 for a professional job well done. Smooth and well-executed. Temperature was hovering in the mid-90s on this hot sunny summer afternoon in South Florida with humidity right around the 90s as well.
As you will see in the video, this car would become a permanent convertible. The moral of this story is: don’t let this happen to you. Drive safely or else you won’t be worrying about your dyno run.
