AJP Takes It to Another Level With 10.97 Quarter Mile

AJP Shop Car Runs 10.97 Quarter Mile

Rob McMorris took the AJP Shop Car, a 2006 Honda Civic Si, into the uncharted territory of the 10s. On a warm breezy night at Palm Beach International Raceway, he ran a 10.97-second quarter-mile at 132 mph and a boost pressure of 24 psi. With an initial pass of 11.2 sec, he knew he was locked in.

Almost 3 years to the date that the shop car ran an 11.97 on May 25, 2007, the car had now improved by about a second. It was long overdue.

The biggest improvement to the car lay in the Skunk2 suspension, installed and adjusted during the two previous nights. Rob commented that the car no longer squatted down, but “bunny-hopped” during the launch.

Despite driving through some intense rain showers on the way to the track, raindrops at the track were scarce, and a good time was had by all. AJP congratulates Rob on his successful step into the world of the 10s.
