Jorge from Port St. Lucie, FL Gets a Checkup
Our friend Jorge, winner of the AJP 2007 Dyno Day Forced Induction category (click here), came by the shop yesterday. He wanted his car, powered by our AJP turbo kit, checked out and tuned up to make sure it was running in top condition.
All it took was a set of new spark plugs and an adjustment of the fuel and everything was set. On a hot South Florida afternoon with temperatures hovering in the low 90s, he was happily surprised to get 384 whp.

In the graph, you’ll notice a dip at 4500 rpm, which is where VTEC and boost kick in at the same time. Unfortunately, this clash produces a slight hesitation.
It is our opinion that the Hondata, when developing this reflash, should have staggered the VTEC and boost rather than letting them conflict. With the reflash as it is now, we have to allow for the dip at that point because we if we did not, we would reduce the fuel supply at higher rpm when the car needs it the most, and that would lead to bad things.
